We're Back!

We’re back in the US just in time for the 4th of July!  You can browse through all the pictures from our trip or trip or take a peek at some of our favorites. There are even a few video clips in the mix!  (It will take me some time to edit the longer video so stay tuned)

Switzerland Rules!

Yesterday we took the train from Paris to Interlaken via Bern.  Paris and London were great but it’s been nice to get a break from the big city crowds.  Interlaken is absolutley beautiful and is nestled between two lakes connected by a small river.  This is the only place I’ve been that ranks higher than Colorado in terms of having experiencing a wide variety of outdoor activities in an inspiring environment.  Our hotel is traditional, which is nice but the computer here is also traditional (old) and doesn’t agree with our camera.  In a way it’s a good thing because we’ve taken a lot of good pics so far and it would be hard to select only a few.  We’ll post a link to all the pics when we get back to the US or maybe from Rome.  Tomorrow morning we head by train to Zermatt to see the Matterhorn!

Recommended by a friend, we walked up a lot of steps to reach the Sacre Coure and had a great view of Paris.  Afterwards we wandered around the Montmartre region and ended up at a cafe.

Here we are at the Louvre.  Yes, Jon checked out all the Da Vinci Code related stuff including a trip to St. Sulpice the day before.

On our 1st day in Paris we took a stroll along the Seine River.

Waiting until dark was worth it.  We shared a bottle of wine on a boat tour down the Seine River.

Later that evening we decided to check out the city of lights after dark…which required some patience because it didn’t get dark until 10pm!

It looks like an OCTA bus made it across the pond.  We spotted it at Trafalgar Square!

After spending the day in Oxford we headed to the South Bank of the River Thames and checked out the London Eye, Parliament Building and Westminster Abbey capped off by dinner at Wagamama.

We went punting down the river Cherwell and enjoyed a bottle of Oxford Vineyard Dry Sauvignon Blanc.  Despite being my first time we made it quite a ways down the river and were able to spend some time at the Victoria Arms pub and picnic gardens.  Of course that meant a pint of Fullers for me and more wine for Andrea. ;)
